HISTORICAL SOCIETY PROFILE
The aim of the society is to:
as Brown Coal Mine, by developing a permanent display venue for community
access.
North and District, including photographic, oral and visual historical material.
The Society conducts monthly meetings on the third Monday of each month at the Old Brown Coal Mine Museum, Yallourn North at 1.00 pm. The Museum is located on the corner of Third Street and Latrobe River Road, Yallourn North, Victoria. The Society is a not for profit organization.
The Society structure is as follows: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Archivist.
The museum committee consists of the above positions plus two other members. When open to the public the museum is staffed by the members.
New members are most welcome.
Membership: Single $15.00 per year
Family $30.00 per year (Two adults & Children under 15 years old) Please note: Membership fees from August 2015 as above.
The Museum is open on weekends (Sunday) Monday & Tuesday, and most Public holidays.
Open times: 10.00am – 4.00pm Sunday
10.00am – 3.00pm Monday & Tuesday. Any other day by appointment - dependant on staff availability. The museum is staffed by the Historical Society members. Unforeseen circumstances may result in the museum being closed on some days. Please ring before travelling. Entry Adults $5.00 Children $1.00 accompanied with adult

Access for the disabled is provided by a ramp from the car park area. The museum has a toilet facilities for the disabled.
